Voor mijn kind en mijzelf
Ik spreek veel moeders in mijn praktijk. De hulpvraag gaat eigenlijk altijd over hun kind. Maar waar ik in het begin moeders nog moest overtuigen dat ik graag eerst met háár wilde werken, krijg ik steeds meer moeders die hulp zoeken “voor mijn kind en mijzelf”. Top!Ik schreef al eerder dat door te werken met moeder ik doorgaans het kind niet eens meer zie. Dat gedrag is dan al opgelost. Moeders kunnen gewoon veel, vooral veel voelen ook…Vaak is het een hele lijst, met ongeveer deze top 10:
1. Ik voel me niet goed genoeg
2. Ik twijfel of ik dit wel allemaal kan
3. Ik ervaar kritiek en verstijf dan
4. Ik mis zelfvertrouwen
5. Ik kan echt heel boos worden op mijn kind
6. Ik voel me steeds schuldig en weet niet waarom
7. Ik ben bang om hulp te vragen
8. Ik loop vast in mijn werk
9. Ik ben bang voor afwijzing
10. Ik zie op tegen etenstijd / bedtijd / wegbrengen
We beginnen met twee dingen: ruimte maken naar haar eigen moeder én ruimte maken naar haar kind. En als dat “opgeruimd” is, is vaak heel duidelijk welke pijn of verdriet er nog bij moeder zit dat aangepakt mag worden. Welk kleine meisje zit daar nog vast in moeder dat nog niet op kon groeien? Op welke leeftijd zit zij als het ware ‘bevroren’?
In een regressiesessie laten we dat kind voor zichzelf opkomen en geven we haar de stem die ze toen niet had. Om haar vervolgens te vergeven, te ‘ontdooien’ en op te laten groeien tot nu. Hiermee lost moeder de trigger op die nog in haar zat. De trigger om zich niet goed genoeg te voelen, of om afgewezen te worden, of … nou ja, die hele lijst dus. 
Zo lang die trigger er zit en dat kleine meisje erop reageert blijven de klachten en problemen. Door dat kleine meisje te helpen verwerken en opgroeien, staat moeder een stuk steviger en is ze weer beschikbaar om haar kind te helpen met zijn of háár emoties.
