Hoe de oplossing van toen nu een probleem is
Mensen zijn een meester in het zich aanpassen aan omstandigheden en kinderen helemaal. We komen allemaal op deze planeet terecht en moeten zelf maar ontdekken hoe het hier werkt.
Gelukkig hebben we een sterk systeem dat snel leert en gedrag en overtuigingen integreert en automatiseert. Reuze handig, maar niet altijd…
Ik sprak deze week weer een klant voor hooikoortsklachten bij wie het zo prachtig zichtbaar werd dat de oplossing die ooit bedacht was door haar systeem nu voor problemen zorgde.
Ze had flink last van hooikoorts, al jaren. Sinds wanneer? Eigenlijk zo lang als ze zich kon herinneren. Toen we wat verder inzoomden bleek het zo rond haar 6de levensjaar begonnen te zijn. “Wat speelde er rond die tijd in je leven?” vroeg ik. Ineens wist ze het. Toen ze 6 werd moest ze van huis weg en naar een internaat. Als oudste dochter weg uit het warme nest en naar school op een internaat waar kinderen t/m 18 jaar verbleven. En daar ‘kreeg’ ze hooikoorts.
“Wat leverden die hooikoortsklachten je daar op?” De klant vertelt hoe ze extra aandacht kreeg en zich soms ook mocht terugtrekken uit de groep, wat een verademing voor haar was. Letterlijk.
Daarna gaat het snel. Want inmiddels heeft ze een eigen gezin met kinderen en is er voldoende aandacht en begrip. Het systeem heeft echter de toen gekozen reactie zo stevig geïntegreerd, dat het nu -27 jaar later- nog steeds deze klachten geeft. Door haar onbewuste te laten weten dat het goed is zo, de oplossing toen begrijpelijk gekozen was, maar dat het daar nu mee kan stoppen, kan de klant haar hooikoortsklachten loslaten. En stopt ze er nu ter plekke mee.
