Soms lukt het gewoon niet. Alweer je geduld bewaren. Laten vallen waar je mee bezig bent en een boos kind helpen bedaren. Kan het dan nooit een keertje gewoon of rustig?
Kijk ná die momenten vooral ook met compassie naar jezelf. Dus ook als het een keer niet lukt je geduld te bewaren. Vraag jezelf af: waarom raakt dit me zo? Wat in mij wordt hierdoor getriggerd? Meestal is het de “kleine ik” in jou die geraakt wordt. Geraakt door onbegrip of onrecht bijvoorbeeld, dat gevoel dat je nog kent van … ja van wanneer eigenlijk?
Zoek een rustig plekje en ga in gedachten naar die kleine ik. Hoe oud is ze? Hoe ziet ze er uit? Waar is ze? Wat gebeurde daar? Vertel haar dat ze zich niet meer zo hoeft te voelen. Laat haar zien dat je het al geleerd hebt. Laat alle situaties zien waarin je het al deed. Waarin je reageerde zoals je graag wilt en wacht tot ze een glimlach op haar gezicht heeft.
Vergeef haar, knuffel haar en groei samen in één op. Adem even rustig door en merk op wat er veranderd is. Hoe voel je je nu? Zoek je kind op en geef hem of haar een knuffel. Zeg wat je wilt zeggen of zeg even helemaal niks.
