Waar staan jouw ouders?

Ik mocht deze week weer aan de slag met het familie panorama van een klant. Een familie panorama is de mentale weergave die je maakt van je familie. Familieleden worden geordend in de vorm van personificaties. Het algemene uitgangspunt bij het werken met familie panorama (of sociaal panorama) is dat mensen voortbouwen op de allereerste ervaringen met hun familie. Dit betekent dat veel huidige problemen een directe voortzetting zijn van de vroege situatie thuis. Het sociaal panorama is de sociale blauwdruk en vormt de basis voor je sociale gedragspatronen.

Je leert bepaalde gedragspatronen te gebruiken en andere te vermijden. Het zal dus altijd iemands repertoire voor sociaal gedrag bepalen / beperken. Als je tegen de limieten van je blauwdruk aanloopt (en dus problemen ervaart in bepaalde situaties), is het super interessant deze eens onder de loep te nemen.

Door het sociaal panorama te onderzoeken én te veranderen, krijg je de kans om andere gedragsmogelijkheden te ontdekken en in te zetten.

Dat nieuwe gedrag is daarna zoveel makkelijker aan te nemen, omdat de achterliggende overtuigingen veranderd zijn.

Zo’n sociaal panorama aanpassen is meestal relatief eenvoudig, omdat het wijzigen van bijvoorbeeld iemands plaats of kijkrichting direct het systeem beïnvloedt. De plek waar iemand staat in jouw beeld zegt iets over de relatie die jij met die persoon ervaart.

Dus onderzoek eens bij jezelf: als ik nu denk aan mijn moeder, waar om mij heen zie ik haar dan? Hoe is het voor mij dat ze daar staat? Waar zou ik haar het liefste plaatsen? En kijk dan eens of ze zelf naar die plaats kan bewegen of dat je haar daar naartoe kunt verplaatsen. Hoe is het nu?
