Dit soort zinnen hoor ik regelmatig van ouders die me uitleggen waar ze tegen aan lopen, zoekend naar waarom het soms inééns teveel is. Om vervolgens 100 redenen aan te dragen die ze als antwoord op die vraag al bedacht hebben: “Het is ook wel een drukke tijd nu”, “misschien is het gewoon een fase”, “haar zus zit ook wel steeds op haar nek”, enz.
Als je “ineens onredelijk” reageert wordt er doorgaans iets diepers in jezelf geraakt, iets waar je je vaak niet eens bewust van bent. Want wat maakt dat je geduld opraakt of dat je kind je zó raakt met zijn gedrag?
Bereid zijn om naar je eigen rol hierin te kijken is de helft van het werk. En je hoeft niet eens precies te weten waar het vandaan komt, je onbewuste weet het wel.
