Proefwerkweek en stress

Het zit er weer bijna op: het schooljaar. Hier zijn de twee oudsten inmiddels gestart met de laatste loodjes in de vorm van een proefwerkweek. Een week lang geen lessen, maar enkel toetsen.

Voor sommige leerlingen is het een bron van stress, sommigen vinden het juist wel relaxed. Minder lessen betekent ook minder prikkels, wat veelal minder energie kost.

Hoe is dit voor jouw kind?

De mate van spanning is natuurlijk ook afhankelijk van hoe goed je kind er voor staat. Wordt overgaan nog kantje boord? Hangt alles van deze laatste toetsen af? Lukt het je als ouder het hoofd nog een beetje koel te houden?

Niet alleen proefwerkweken of toetsen kunnen een bron van stress zijn. Veel klanten die ik spreek ervaren regelmatig een zekere mate van stress of spanning. Ook als volwassene kun je spanning ervaren, zelfs als je inmiddels prima in kunt schatten hoe ‘bedreigend’ een situatie werkelijk is. Want met meer levenservaring heb je meer vaardigheden opgebouwd om met situaties om te gaan. Tegelijkertijd zie ik dat die levensjaren ook maken dat bepaalde overtuigingen meer en meer geïntegreerd zijn.

Stress kan leiden tot angstgevoelens of oude overtuigingen triggeren. Vooral langdurige en intense bezorgdheid kan zich uiten in angst. Klanten kloppen bij mij aan als stress en angst het dagelijks functioneren beïnvloeden of belemmeren.
